Open volunteer positions are listed below. Southeast District Vice ChairThe District Vice Chair supports the Chairperson by attending the monthly TNOTA Board meeting alongside or in lieu of the Chair when the Chair is unable to attend, helping to coordinate events in the district, and co-facilitating quarterly District meetings which may be focused on social/networking or CEU events. Estimated time commitment: about 10 hours annually, not including attending the annual conference which is encouraged but optional for TNOTA leaders. Contact [email protected] for more information! Southeast District SecretaryThe Secretary of each District keeps minutes and records of attendance from all meetings and events. Advocacy Committee MembersThis committee’s priorities are to facilitate and support state-level professional advocacy, including professional visibility, advancement, and promotion and to collaborate with TNOTA’s lobbyist and legislative representative to monitor legislation impacting OT practice on a state and federal level. Diversity & Inclusion Committee MembersThis committee was established to facilitate the promotion of education about issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion as well as justice in and around the profession of occupational therapy. The priorities include improving the quality of occupational therapy services in Tennessee through advocacy and education with respect to DEI-related priorities as needed to promote access to social determinants of health, access to affordable healthcare, health disparities, and social justice.
