Speakers: Noranda M. French and Chuck Willmarth, CAE

Noranda M. French is the Regulatory Administrative Director 2 over Unit 2, which oversees the Athletic Trainers, Chiropractic Examiners, Massage Therapy, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Reflexology boards. She has 15 years of experience in state government with 9 of them being in the Department of Health. She has been the Director of Unit 2 since late 2018.

Chuck Willmarth, CAE, is Vice President for Health Policy and State Affairs at the American Occupational Therapy Association. He has over 30 years of experience managing state legislative and regulatory issues including more than 25 years with AOTA. He holds a Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential from the American Society of Association Executives. Chuck represents AOTA to the OT Compact Commission in his role as an Ex officio member of the Executive Committee.

 

Learning Objectives:

Following this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Explain the purpose and key features of the Occupational Therapy Licensure Compact and how it applies to Tennessee OT practitioners.
  2. Identify the steps required for occupational therapy practitioners in Tennessee to apply for and obtain compact privileges.
  3. Evaluate how participation in the OT Compact may impact professional practice, including interstate service delivery, telehealth, and compliance with state regulations, for OT practitioners in the Tennessee.

 

Course Description:This one-hour continuing education webinar is designed to provide OT practitioners and OT/OTA students in Tennessee with essential updates on the Occupational Therapy Licensure Compact. Attendees will learn about the Compact’s purpose, requirements, and benefits, as well as Tennessee’s specific implementation process. The session will walk participants through the steps needed to apply for compact privileges, address common questions, and highlight how participation can expand practice opportunities across state lines while ensuring compliance with regulations.
