About This Presentation: QPR is a suicide prevention training that will equip the everyday person with the knowledge of Signs of depression, How to ask someone if they are having thoughts of suicide, How to persuade an individual to seek help, and How to refer someone to resources available. You will learn what a Safety Plan looks like and how to create one.

Speaker & Biography: Will Taylor BS, NCPRSS, LADAC I, currently serves as the Lifeline Peer Coordinator & Regional Overdose Prevention Specialist for Tennessee contracted through the Dept. of Mental Health & Substance Abuse. Will works in his region to break stigma associated with substance abuse disorder and mental health by providing educational forums to the community by means of townhall, civic groups, and the faith community. Will works closely with health counsels, recovery courts, probation & parole officers to facilitate coordination of recovery services to those in need. He engages those seeking treatment and helps them navigate recovery resources. In his role as an Overdose Prevention Specialist, Will provides Naloxone training and distribution to individuals at high risk of opiate overdose. Will creates access points for individuals seeking recovery support by staying current with evidence based practices, treatment bed availability, and current funding sources. Will has 7 years of experience in the field of mental health and substance abuse services. He has been a Certified Peer Recovery Specialists since 2015 on the state level and a National Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialists since 2017. Will serves as a Youth & Adult Mental Health First Responder, a member of the Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network Middle TN Postvention Response Team, a QPR trainer, Asist trainer,  Youth Mental Health First Aid trainer, a WRAP I & II facilitator, a Trauma informed approach trainer, a member of The Tennessee Alliance for Drug Endangered Children, and is a LADAC I Counselor.
