Dr. Cindy De Ruiter Blackwell, OTD, OTR/L, TNOTA President Elect 
About the Presenter: ​Dr. Cindy DeRuiter Blackwell is a pediatric occupational therapist. She earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Blackwell completed her master's degree and post-professional doctorate in occupational therapy at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She has worked in a variety of settings, including public and private schools, home-based services, outpatient pediatric clinics, and academia. Her passion is working with children with disabilities or developmental delays and their families, to help empower them to reach their fullest potential. Dr. Blackwell is the President-Elect for the Tennessee Occupational Therapy Association.

Objectives:

● Participants will be able to identify the distinct and complementary roles of occupational therapy practitioners and behavior therapy practitioners

● Participants will explore the transdisciplinary service model as it relates to co-treatment between OT and ABA

● Participants will identify ways to increase cooperation and collaboration between these disciplines
