About this course: This course will consist of inspiring therapists to use the basic NDT principles and its techniques to improve function with patients with neurological deficits. It will focus on assessing the patient holistically and promote regaining function so patients will have a better quality of life.

Course Objectives:

  1. Recognize normal vs. impaired movement patterns
  2. Identify patient’s roles, performance activities, multisystem impairments, and single impairments to help improve patient’s function and participation during therapy sessions.
  3. Use basic principles of NDT and apply them to their treatment with patients that have neurological deficits
  4. Recognize compensatory strategies vs reeducation/activation of muscle strategies. Participants should identify compensatory movements and use NDT techniques to activate normalized for regaining function. 

This course will be recorded and hosted on Aspire OT for future viewing.
