About this course: 

Learn more about the evidence that supports sensory integration in mental health treatment! This course is designed to educate and clarify unique differences between mental illness and mental health. Learners will be able to identify the difference between alerting stimuli and calming stimuli as well as be able to implement treatment interventions meant to provide effective and healthy means to cope through stress, anxiety and trauma.

Course Objectives:

1. Understand the basic theory behind sensory integration in Mental Health Treatment

2: Understand the role of the Occupational Therapist when delivering treatment with a sensory approach

3: Understand the effects of sensory integration on patient ability to self regulate in a health way
