About the presentation: Elevate your professional contributions by mastering the art of the conference proposal. This one-house webinar provides a comprehensive roadmap for transforming your experience and insight into a compelling presentation. Participants will learn to navigate the process for conference proposal development and submission, from crafting descriptive titles and measurable learning objectives to writing abstracts that resonate with review committees. Whether you are a first-time presenter or a seasoned clinician, this session offers the tools to align your work with conference themes and successfully share your knowledge with the broader occupational therapy community.

 

Course Objectives:

  1. Describe the essential elements of a well-structured conference proposal.
  2. Determine strategies for developing a compelling title and abstract for a conference proposal.
  3. Identify ways that a conference proposal can be written to align with the theme of the conference.

 

Speaker: Stephanie Lancaster, EdD, OTR/L, ATP, is a seasoned occupational therapist, OT educator, and leader in the field with a deep commitment to professional development and scholarly communication. As an OT educator since 2013 and the current President of the Tennessee Occupational Therapy Association (TNOTA), she has extensive experience in designing and delivering effective educational content. Her academic background, including a Doctorate in Education specializing in Instruction and Curriculum Leadership with an emphasis on Instructional Design and Technology, informs her expertise in creating well-structured and compelling presentations. Stephanie's credentials for teaching others how to write quality conference proposals are further evidenced by her extensive experience in presenting on professional development topics at the state and national levels.
