Two Positions: Adjunct Professor and Full-time Assistant Professor Tennessee State University M.OT Program, Nashville TN
TSU M.OT Program seeks an adjunct instructor for teaching pediatric lab and lecture courses in Spring 2027. Applicants for the adjunct position may be doctoral- or masters-level trained, be currently licensed in TN, and must have pediatric practice experience. TSU M.OT Program also has an opening for a full-time 9-month tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, to teach pediatric content. Anticipated start date August 2027. Minimum qualifications for this position include:
1. Entry-level or Post-professional doctoral degree in occupational therapy, or a combination of the following: a bachelor’s or master’s degree in occupational therapy AND a doctorate in a related field.
2. Currently licensed or eligible for a TN occupational therapy license
3. Evidence of initial NBCOT certification. Current NBCOT certification is not required.
4. Teaching experience at the university level
5. At least 5 years of occupational therapy practice experience
6. A commitment to teamwork and student success.

Occupational Therapist - Nashville (Home location Lebanon, TN. with travel to Stonecrest (Smyrna,TN if needed) Position Title: Occupational Therapist
POSITION GOAL To perform occupational therapy/hand therapy treatments, evaluations and related services established by state law.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Plans and administers occupational therapy (OT) treatments for patients referred by qualified physicians.
Observe and become aware of progress of patient, discuss with physician as necessary.
Record progress notes on a daily basis.
Instruct patients in home exercise programs and provide written instructions as appropriate.
Fabricate splints, braces, hand and wrist covers. Etc…to support hand therapy treatments as required.
Provide for a comfortable, orderly, clean and safe clinic environment.
Comply with all national and state guidelines as required by law.
Provide effective and ethical intervention to promote healing and restore function.
Participates in educational opportunities to maintain licensure and facilitate the highest standard of practice.
Assign work to and instruct Rehab Aides
Communicate progress, both written and verbal to patient, physicians and lead therapist as necessary

Description:
The Department of Occupational Therapy at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) seeks a full-time 9-month, tenure track faculty member in the Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) Program. Within this role, opportunities exist for maintaining some clinical practice.
Effective Date: August 1, 2026 or later depending upon availability of the selected candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Teach and advise students within the OTD Program
- Engage in research with regular scholarly dissemination
- Engage in department, college, university service and/or professional service
- Contribute to OT Department outcome assessment, OTD Program accreditation activities, curriculum and other continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Engage in ongoing professional development in andragogy and clinical occupational therapist skills as related to teaching assignments
Qualifications
Required qualifications:
- Terminal academic degree (e.g., PhD, EdD)
- Occupational Therapy degree
- Tennessee licensed or eligible
- American Occupational Therapy Association member
- 3+ years full-time clinical experience
- Expertise for lead teaching of
- research methodologies and evidenced-based practice

Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in lead teaching at the doctoral level
- Experience in research with peer-reviewed product dissemination
- Service and leadership in the occupational therapy profession
- Orthopedic clinical expertise with Certified Hand Therapist (CMT), Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT), or other specialty certification
- Clinical experience in multiple healthcare settings (e.g., outpatient, acute care, home health, skilled nursing, inpatient rehab)
- Clinical experience with management of patients with significant multi-system involvement
