Presenter: Amanda Buchanan, MSOT/L: Amanda attended UT Knoxville for a BS in Psychology and New York University for her MSOT. She fell in love with acute care OT during her first level 1 clinical and continued her passion on when she obtained a position at UT Medical Center. Her passion is working with neurological diagnoses, specifically patients with Parkinson’s and CVA. She has worked at UT for 6 years in inpatient acute care and is certified in LSVT Big.

Presenter: Aftin Mcgrew, MSOT/L: Aftin graduated as an OTA from Roane State in 2010 and then obtained her MSOT through Belmont University in 2014. She has worked at UTMCK for 9 years; 4 years as an OTA and 5 years as an OT. She enjoys the fast-paced nature of acute care and the challenge of working at a level one trauma hospital where there is always something new to learn. She has a passion for patients with spinal cord injuries and the challenge of working with patient’s neurological diagnoses.
