Presenter: Rachel Runyan, OTR/L, CLS,  I have been an occupational therapist for 10 years (in May). I graduated from UTHSC with my master’s in occupational therapy in 2013; that same year I started working for Blount Memorial Hospital at their outpatient pediatric clinic. We see children from birth to 21 years. Throughout my career I have also worked PRN with adults to be a more well rounded clinician. I have worked in acute care, in-patient rehab, and transitional care. I have also been known to moonlight at our transitional care center to help the CNA’s when they are short staffed. I have always loved working with infants, with the help of one of our SLP’s I was able to be introduced to lactation in our clinic setting. I received my CLS in February of 2022. I adore working with the breastfeeding dyad, I have also taken more courses in bottle feeding, and bodywork to compliment lactation. My goal is to continue learning and go on to obtain my IBCLC(International Board Certified Lactation Consultant).Personal Bio: I live in Knoxville Tennessee, but work in Maryville Tennessee. I am married to my husband Michael. We have 4 beautiful, wild, exhausting, funny, and amazing kids; Teagan (9), Henley (6),Deacon (4), and Dane (8 months). I spend a lot of my time outside of work chauffeuring my kids around while they live their best lives. I love being a mom, but I had a midlife crisis and decided I wanted to try completing a triathlon, and now I love training and racing when I can fit it in my schedule.
