About This Course: AOTF is the nation’s leading non-profit investing in new OT research and the future OT workforce. For almost 60 years AOTF has been the only national organization committed to supporting OT scientists building new evidence, providing research resources for clinicians, offering scholarship assistance for OT students and disseminating new knowledge to the profession. All of this work is vital to strengthening occupational therapy, to raising its visibility, and improving the delivery of care and all of this critical work is accomplished thanks to the philanthropic support of a community of donors and volunteers.This presentation will cover the mission, investments and impacts of AOTF and opportunities for OT to engage with our work. This webinar will be recorded for later viewing if you are unable to attend the webinar.

Target Audience: Occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, occupational therapy students

Course Objectives: After completion of this occupational therapy continuing education course, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe how OTF is building new knowledge for OT practice.
  2. Identify where OT practitioners can obtain new evidence for their practice.
  3. Discus how OT practitioners can support the mission of AOTF and future occupational therapy.

Presenter: Lawrence Liff is the Chief Development Officer at AOTF. He has been in this role for 5 years. During this time Lawrence has grown the community of supporters and volunteers engaged with AOTF, spearheaded new partnerships and expanded research opportunities in areas of need.Lawrence has a BA in History and Political Science and a Master of Public Policy degree both from the University of Maryland. He has been a fundraiser for 18 years working in annual, major, corporate and planned giving as well as event planning and volunteer leadership. Prior to joining AOTF he was a fundraiser at the University of Maryland.
